Two people died and three were taken to a hospital after a single-vehicle crash in El Paso County.
The crash, on Old Stage Road, was reported by phone just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Trooper Josh Lewis, a State Patrol spokesman.
The vehicle ran off a dirt road section of Old Stage about 6 miles beyond where the paved road ends, Lewis said.
The two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were taken from the crash site by ambulance and one by helicopter. Details on the injuries were not available.
An investigation is ongoing. The crash happened in a remote area on Cheyenne Mountain southwest of Colorado Springs.
