Arturo Hernandez Garcia, who was arrested ...
Patrick Traylor, The Denver Post
Arturo Hernandez Garcia, who was arrested last month by U.S. immigration officers, lived from October 2014 through July 2015 at the First Unitarian Society of Denver. When he left the church, he did so with a letter from federal officials saying he was not an immigration enforcement priority.

Re: May 1 editorial.

The arrest of Arturo Hernandez Garcia does not represent “gratuitous and hateful overreach that defies understanding,” as The Denver Post posits. Hernandez Garcia has been in this country illegally for 14 years. Regardless of the ostensibly exemplary life he has led here, it in no way compares with the millions of people waiting in line for their chance to enter and live in this country legally. Likewise, it doesn’t hold a candle to the 138 million worldwide who, according to a , also want to live here but cannot simply.
