This might not be the weekend for a scenic drive through Denver.

The city is playing host to the Colfax Marathon, Project Pabst and , which means there’s a lot of fun to be had — if you can get there.

Starting Friday at 6 p.m., Welton Street from 25th to 30th streets will be closed for the jazz festival’s kickoff parade. The festival continues on into Saturday night.

Saturday will also play host to , which will close Larimer Street between 27th and 28th streets.

Come Sunday, will take over the city, causing full and partial closures along Colfax Avenue from Aurora to Lakewood starting as early as 3 a.m. and ending as late as 1 p.m. Organizers urged drivers to avoid Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue altogether.

Crossing Colfax and 17th avenues will be a pain. Organizers said the easiest places to cross Colfax will be at Interstate 25, Federal Boulevard and Interstate 225. Streets will be reopened as the race progresses.

To avoid delays, organizers recommended staying away from streets that run between Kipling and Havana streets as well as West 26th and Sixth avenues from 5:30 a.m. to noon.
