In most states, a person who physically assaults another is sent to jail; however, in the great state of Montana, they are sent to the U.S. Congress. On Wednesday, Republican congressional candidate Greg Gianforte body-slammed Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs for being persistent in a question regarding the Congressional Budget Office report on the proposed Republican health care plan.
Donald Trump and the alt-right/alt-fact wing of the Republican Party, with their constant attacks on the free press, have declared open season on journalists. The press are the watchdogs of our democracy. They should be praised, protected and certainly not assaulted.
