Getting your player ready...
Having Von Miller is a two-fold luxury for the Broncos: they have him sacking other teams’ quarterbacks and he’s not sacking their quarterback. Wednesday, they got a reminder of just how important the latter benefit is to their quarterback’s well-being.

The Broncos offense started off with their best day in a long time, but Miller kept them from owning the drills by remaining a pest in the backfield. Miller flew past left tackle with a combination of speeds and hand fighting on at least two sacks, the latter of which was a strip sack of . Miller couldn’t hit the quarterbacks but easily may have had more sacks had it been a game setting.

Miller routinely makes plays in practice, but Wednesday it was at another level. Miller getting into an early groove is a great sign for the Broncos.

On the other side, Sambrailo has had a rough week after looking good early this spring. He’s splitting first-team left tackle reps with rookie Garett Bolles and the Broncos first-round pick is closing on that starting job.

Bolles looked strong, particularly as a run blocker, over the last two days. He has moments where it’s clear he’s a rookie, but his talent is apparent when he holds his own against and Miller on some plays.

Good day for the QBs

started the day with the Broncos first team, but ended up splitting those reps with Trevor Siemian like the two did on Tuesday. Lynch and Siemian upped their play Wednesday winning more battles than they lost, particularly in the first half of practice. Siemian had a slightly better practice.

Siemian had a strong rapport with and hitting both for multiple touchdown passes. Siemian’s best sequence was leading the offense down the field with accuracy and precision during a two-minute drill. He also hit Taylor in a stride with a beautiful deep ball over to end practice.

Lynch made some strong throws over the middle of field throughout practice, including hitting for a touchdown during a red zone drill. He went four-and-out on his two-minute drill as and made great pass breakups on third and fourth downs. Lynch threw the lone interception between the two top quarterbacks Wednesday.

Interception party

Speaking of that interception, safety made the highlight play of the day grabbing a leaping interception on the left side of the end zone starting  a celebration party among the nearby defensive backs.

Simmons’ ball skills were a big reason he was selected in the third round last year and he showed his range picking off that Lynch pass intended for Heuerman.

Cornerback Lorenzo Doss and safety Jamal Carter also had interceptions of quarterback Kyle Sloter.

Run game promise?

It’s hard to make big observations about the running game in June, but there were some big holes creating by the first-team offensive line Wednesday. Moving Leary to right guard appears to already be paying off as , and De’Angelo Henderson had a number of big runs on the right side.

Bolles and right tackle Menelik Watson also showed their strength creating movement on the edges. This should be fun to watch when the pads come on in training camp.
