A limousine was struck by a truck early Tuesday morning in an accident that caused multiple injuries and shut down a road for several hours.

The accident happened before 4 a.m. at the intersection of West Hampden Avenue and South Sheridan Boulevard, said Officer Marika Putnam, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.

Two people were taken to a hospital, Putnam said. Their conditions were unknown.

The wreck forced emergency workers to close West Hampden Avenue’s westbound lane for about three hours. The road was reopened around 7 a.m., according to the police department’s Twitter account.

Putnam did not know how many people were inside the limo or what they might have been celebrating.
