Suspicious spectator. On July 30, a woman was jogging in the 7000 block of W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, when a man in a green sedan stopped in the middle of the road to watch her, according to a police report. The man turned the car around and proceeded to follow the woman as she jogged. She made several turns, and the man continued to follow her in his car, police say. She eventually hid behind a large bush and called the cops, but the man in the car was gone by the time police arrived.

Safeway assailant. While a man was loading groceries into his car at Safeway, 3900 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge, July 31, the driver of a truck parked near by called to him. According to a police report, the driver of the truck then ran over the shopper and left the area without stopping. The police say the victim suffered serious bodily injury.

Cagey customer. On August 1, a woman at 7-Eleven, 3790 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge, tried to pay with a counterfiet $100 bill, according to a police report. She was contacted on scene by police. A search revealed two syringes loaded with what appeared to by heroin, police say. The woman was jailed on an active warrant.

Don’t panic. A man responsible for an automobile accident that injured him and a passenger on July 27 in the area of West 44th Avenue and Robb Streetin Wheat Ridge was issued a summons after fleeing the scene on foot, according to a police report. When officers later located him, he was taken to Lutheran Medical Center.
