In court Wednesday afternoon, Steve Curtis pleaded not guilty to one count of voter fraud and one count of forgery, a Class 5 felony. The Weld District Attorney’s office charged Curtis in February. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.

Curtis served as the chairman of the Colorado Republican Party from 1997-99, and he since has worked as a talk show host on the conservative radio station KLZ-AM 560.

Few details about the case are public, but officials have confirmed it connects to an investigation launched by the Weld County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, which then handed over the investigation to the district attorney’s office.
