DENVER, CO - SEPTEMBER- A frightened dog sits inside a kennel outside the MaxFund Animal Adoption Center after having just arrived in Denver from being rescued in Houston on September 3, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. Volunteers from the animal adoption center went down to Houston to rescue 8 dogs and 27 cats from the catastrophic flooding that has destroyed parts of Houston. Most of the animals were relinquished by their owners because many of them had lost their homes and could no longer care for the animals. All of the animals have their health certificates, shots, and vaccinations. They will be given medical care, be spayed or neutered and then will be available for adoption in about 2 weeks.
