This weekend is expected to be hot, albeit less smoky, in the Denver metro area. And don’t expect it to cool down anytime soon.

The high for both Saturday and Sunday is expected to be 90-degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Koopmeiners said. It should stay hot throughout next week with no big changes in temperatures on the horizon. The low for both days is 60 degrees.

Both days this weekend are expected to be partly and mostly cloudy. There’s a 10 percent chance of storms Saturday, growing to a 20 percent chance Sunday, Koopmeiners said. There will be more chances of late afternoon storms next week.

“Keep your fingers crossed,” Koopmeiners said. “We need some moisture.”
