Thank you for the stories on kidney transplants. I had a kidney transplant in June. My donor and hero was my daughter-in-law. Unfortunately, most people don’t have a donor and the current wait for a kidney is five to seven years. Hopefully your stories will inspire prospective donors. One of the things never mentioned in these articles is an important consideration for those prospects: What happens if I ever need a kidney? If they ever need a kidney, they will go to the top of the list and receive the next available matching kidney because they donated. Hopefully, this knowledge will encourage more people to donate. Donors are heroes.
