As a Vietnam veteran, I looked forward to the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary. I had to stop watching after three episodes as it made me thoroughly depressed and I had trouble sleeping. I didn’t need to be reminded about how the politicians’ bungling got us into that quagmire and continued to feed us into the meat grinder when they knew it was a lost cause.

I also did not need to revisit the actions of the anti-war movement whose protests showed the Hanoi government we would not stay the course and would leave eventually. I felt many of the protesters were more concerned with their own personal safety than any high moral ground.
