The Denver metro area will likely see isolated thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday ahead of a cold front expected to hit Monday.
Saturday should have a high near 74 degrees with isolated afternoon thunderstorms and light winds, National Weather Service meteorologist Russell Danielson said. There’s a 20 percent chance of the thunderstorms lingering into the evening, eventually clearing out for a low of 39 degrees.
Walk your dogs in the morning Sunday if you want to grab some sunshine. Isolated thunderstorms are expected again Sunday afternoon with a high around 72 degrees, Danielson said.
Sunday night is expected to have a 45-degree low, heralding in a Monday with a 49-degree high, he said.
After starting off the first 22 days of September dry, showers at the end of the month brought up the rainfall to 1.26 inches at the Denver International Airport, which is a third of an inch about normal, Danielson said.
