Police officers are investigating after three people died when a stolen car veered off the road early Thursday and crashed into a lake in north Greeley.
Greeley Fire Marshal Pete Morgan said 15 firefighters responded to the call and originally had trouble entering the water because the lake is surrounded by a 50-foot embankment.
Firefighters were able to pull the people from the car and they were taken to North Colorado Medical Center.
Greeley police Capt. Mark Jones later announced all three had died. Greeley police Lt. Roy Smith confirmed the car was reported stolen on Oct. 5.
