Colorado State football will play 2021 game at Iowa and receive $1.35 million payout

Rams have 16 games against Power 5 conference schools in the next 11 seasons

Colorado State will play a future road football game at Iowa, the two universities announced Friday.

The game is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2021, at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa, and is one of two games the Rams have scheduled against opponents from Power 5 conferences that season. In the two weeks leading up to its game against the Hawkeyes, CSU will host Vanderbilt and play at Toledo. The Rams still have an open nonconference date during Week 1 of 2021.

There is no return trip for the Hawkeyes to Fort Collins, instead, Iowa will pay CSU $1.35 million.

CSU has has so far scheduled 16 games against Power 5 opponents in the  next 11 seasons, including Colorado, Florida, Arkansas and Arizona.
