Letter-writers Howard Williams and Norma Link complained about people being upset with them when they use the left lane to pass. Link even stated in her letter that when she moves into the left lane to pass, she is “even going above the speed limit at times.” The left lane is to pass and one should always go above the speed limit to pass. There are multiple signs along the highway that say to stay out of the left lane unless you’re passing. There are too many drivers who simply stay in the left lane and are passing no one. They’re usually using their cellphones and are too lazy to keep changing lanes. The Highway Patrol needs to start ticketing drivers who just stay in the left lane with other drivers having to pass them in the right lane.
