Broncos grades

Offense: D
The Broncos did nothing in their first 10 possessions. After a first-quarter touchdown pass was overturned after a replay review, threw an interception in the end zone on second down from the 1-yard line, ending Denver’s chance to take an early lead. QB got a hot hand late to make the game close.

Defense: D
Even without their two top wide receivers and their starting left guard, the Raiders had little trouble moving the ball. A failure to answer the bell on third down in the fourth quarter ended any faint hope of a comeback.

Special teams: C
A short, line-drive punt by in the first half helped set the Raiders up with a short field that ended in a TD drive. The Broncos’ only attempt at a kickoff return went just 14 yards.

Coaching: F
The Broncos have now lost seven games in a row, and all but two of those games have come by double digits. Denver never recovered from a deflating second-quarter interception, though it pulled close late.

Game Balls

Derek Carr, Oakland QB. Even without two top receiving targets, Carr effortlessly carved up the Broncos defense and threw two touchdown passes, the second following a 47-yard pass to Johnny Holton.

NaVorro Bowman, Oakland LB. The linebacker’s interception on a twice tipped ball in the end zone in the first half — the first pass the Raiders picked off this season — swung the momentum in Oakland’s favor, and the Broncos never recovered.

Trevor Siemian, Broncos QB. Came off the bench and led two late scoring drives, finding and with TD passes.
