Although heavy snow is starting to fall at Denver International Airport no major flight cancellations have been announced, officials say.

“So far about a half inch of snow has fallen at the airport,” Health Montgomery, DIA spokesman said early Thursday morning.

There have been no major delays but that could change as the snow continues to accumulate, Montgomery said.

Snow equipment is clearing the runways. There will be some delays because airplanes are undergoing de-icing procedures, Montgomery said.

Peña Boulevard is icy so travelers are asked to drive slower and use caution, he said.
