Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help finding two suspects responsible for unrelated bank robberies in Lakewood and Littleton that occurred less than a week apart.

At 10:05 a.m. on Jan. 10, a man threatened a teller at the Colorado State Bank and Trust in Littleton, saying he had a weapon and demanding money, according to the FBI. He fled the bank, which is on South Kipling Parkway north of Colorado 470, and drove north. A 2000 to 2006 Lincoln LS sedan may be associated with the robbery.

The FBI described him as a 5 feet 6 inch or 5 feet 7 inch male who weighed about 180 pounds. He wore a blue beanie, dark sunglasses, dark turtleneck, dark Nike shirt, a light blue undershirt, dark pants and dark tennis shoes.

Then, at 10 a.m. on Jan. 16, a man presented a demand note to a US Bank on Teller Street south of West Alameda Avenue in Lakewood before fleeing southbound on foot, the FBI says.

The FBI described him as a 6-foot male in his early 20s with a medium build. He was wearing a greenish hooded coat, dark scarf, dark grey slacks and black shoes.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense, according to the FBI. The sentence increases if a dangerous weapon is used.

Anyone with information regarding either robbery is asked to call the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171. Annonymous tips submitted to Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 can earn up to $2,000.
