Arvada’s master-planned Candelas lures plenty of buyers moving up from inside Arvada, wanting to stay inside their city limits; but getting Boulder-area families to consider Candelas is a taller order. Now Colorado-born-and-bred Remington Homes is breaking that Boulder barrier with a new 4-bedroom show home, with walkout basement and 4-car garage, that shows just how much further a dollar goes in Candelas than it does a few miles north.
Jan. 27 you can get a first look inside Remington’s furnished ‘307’ show home, showcasing 33 prime sites that Remington has in Candelas for a new collection of ranch and family-sized plans. Over the past three weeks, Remington has sold or taken reservations on a third of those available lots — many buyers either coming from Boulder or arriving for jobs along the U.S. 36 corridor, just six miles north.
“A home with these features around Boulder would be $1.2 million or $1.3 million,” says Remington Sales Manager Debbie Millage, showing off the 3,767-square-foot show home you’ll see today, a mile west of Indiana Avenue on Candelas Parkway. The ‘307’ sells for around $850,000 – including a den, four-car garage, walkout basement and large deck, on a home site that would provide views across the Denver area, or west toward the Ralston Buttes.
Remington can deliver a 2,600-square-foot ‘301’ ranch here, on a site with no lot premium, from around $575,000. But Remington’s Vicki Albert says that a third of her buyers are opting for a new, even-larger ranch, almost 3,100 feet finished, with a 3-car garage or an option for a fourth car. She’ll show you the remaining 20 sites close to the model – from 9,000 to 16,000 square feet, many backing to views east across Standley lake or northwest into open space.
The new model has a spectacular bedroom-suite level with kids’ beds set across a bridge from the master with a grand bath, leading to a huge walk-in closet.
Albert notes that around half of her buyers are opting to have Remington customize finished space for them on the basement level, taking advantage of a builder willing to do way-more personalized changes for customers than typical production builders will do. Remington’s in-house designer Christina Heekin, who designed this home and that large ranch, is available to buyers to work their ideas in.
You’ll see a King Soopers near completion, two swim clubs, new Three Creeks Elementary School open for K-thru-6 and Candelas’ parks and trails. What WON’T be there when Remington holds a formal grand opening later this spring, is the half-off offer on site premiums.
To reach the model, from I-70 take Ward Road north to W. 64th and head west to Indiana, then turn north on Indiana 3.5 miles to Candelas Parkway. Turn west on Candelas 1.6 miles to Salvia Street and turn north two blocks.
