Denver police are investigating a shooting outside a Montbello home Sunday afternoon that left one man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The gunfire comes two weeks after a double homicide in the same neighborhood.

Sunday’s incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Cornish Way, Denver police said.

An adult man was found at the scene with a bullet wound that was not life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital, police said.

Further information about a suspect or suspects in the shooting or the circumstances that led to it was not immediately available.

Sunday’s violence took place less than a mile away from the scene of a triple shooting Feb. 3. Two people, 18-year-old Abisai Ponce Gutierrez and 17-year-old Byron Ware, were killed, and a third teenager was critically wounded, police said. Two other teens, Kylvito Garrette, 19, and Octavio Morales, 18, have been arrested on charges of first-degree murder in that case.
