Re: “Several things for Amazon to consider regarding Colorado,” March 18 letter to the editor.
Comments made by letter-writer Alan Apt regarding Amazon opening a headquarters in Colorado highlight concerns that all Coloradans must consider when voting. The quality of life here has been continually touted in the name of the almighty dollar, encouraging growth to the point that the quality of life has been steadily eroded. Case in point, the abuses at Hanging Lake that have led to significant restrictions on access. Further, water diversions to the Front Range, in addition to climate change, have reduced water flow in Western Slope rivers to an alarming level. The Golden Goose has been plucked to near nudity. How far must it go before voters realize there is something more important than lining the pockets of the wealthy?
