Colorado State’s on-campus stadium earned high marks from fans and media throughout its first football season in Fort Collins. The Rams did such a good job, it seems, their design was hijacked by another team promoting its new stadium.
Here’s looking at you, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
UAB is set to construct and it promoted that news Wednesday with a head-scratching Twitter post.

Look familiar? It should. UAB used the digital renderings of CSU’s new digs with a Birmingham backdrop, the Tweet was promptly taken down. When the screenshot image is placed next to CSU’s stadium, there is no debate. It’s the same facility.

So, how did this happen? Ted Feeley, UAB’s associate athletics director for communications, explained.
“The UAB football account was not aware those renderings were CSU’s when it was provided by our graphics team,” Feeley said. “That is why it was a taken down. Purely a mistake.”
It should be noted that UAB is not ripping off the Rams. The school unveiled the actual digital renderings that differ greatly from CSU.
Big news today about the future of UAB Football and the entire city of Birmingham! Thank you to the and everyone who has played a part to make this happen.

So fear not, CSU fans. Your stadium design is safe — for now.
