A former youth volunteer at a metro-area church has been arrested as a suspect in a child sex assault case.

Joseph Potts, 31, turned himself in at the Arapahoe County Jail on Thursday afternoon after an arrest warrant was issued for him, according to the Englewood Police Department.

Englewood police began an investigation in January into allegations against Potts, a former volunteer at the Jubilee Fellowship Church. The charges allege crimes in 2017 involving two male juveniles, ages 14 and 15 at the time.

Potts was held on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, enticement of a child, obscenity to a minor and indecent exposure.
