Former Broncos outside linebacker visited organized team activities Wednesday in Dove Valley and one thing was clear: When Ware spoke, the Broncos listened.
“All the D-linemen were circled around him,” defensive tackle Shelby Harris said. “How often do you get a first-ballot Hall of Famer to come in and talk to you and try to teach you about pass rush? You’ve got to take it and you’ve got to enjoy it.”
Ware — who had 21 ½ sacks over three seasons with the Broncos (2014-16) — served as a guest instructor to work with a group of Broncos’ pass rushers that includes six-time Pro Bowler Von Miller and No. 5 overall NFL draft pick Bradley Chubb, a rookie.
“(Ware) showed us some stuff, came in and worked with the inside guys a little bit and the outside guys a little bit,” Harris said. “He showed us a couple little moves that I’m going to try out tomorrow when the pads come on. Hopefully we get to see more of him. … I loved it. I thought he had some great insights.”
Miller on OTAs. Miller is participating in OTAs, but isn’t taking much stock in the Broncos’ performance.
“Last year in OTAs, I thought we were going to win the ,” he said. “You really can’t put too much into it. I like our grind, I like our work and I like the way we come up here every day. It feels different.”
Miller added: “You really can’t get too high off of a sack in practice out here. I think thatap a joke.”
Miller’s goal is to build and maintain his conditioning during the four weeks of OTAs/mini-camp.
“You want to hit the break in great shape,” he said.
Footnote. Cornerback Bradley Roby returned Wednesday after missing Tuesday (sick).
“I never quarrel with a man who buys ink by the barrel,” former Indiana Rep. Charles Brownson said of the press. But we need your help to keep up with the rising cost of ink.
