A 13-year-old boy who was hit by a truck in Loveland on Friday night has died, Loveland police said Saturday.

Richard Roy Swanson, a 47-year-old Loveland man, was arrested in the crash that happened in the 400 block of North Wilson Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Police suspect alcohol to be a factor in the crash.

The 13-year-old boy was taken to a hospital with serious injuries Friday night, but he did not survive.

Swanson, who was driving a 2005 Ford F-150, is being held on charges of vehicular homicide, careless driving resulting in death and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
