A sheriff’s deputy in El Paso County was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drug charges.

Steven D’Agostino, 34, who is assigned to floor security at the criminal justice center jail, was booked Tuesday, into the same jail, on suspicion of two felonies and one misdemeanor, according to the sheriff’s office.

D’Agostino faces charges of introducing contraband in the first degree and unlawful possession of a schedule II drug with intent to distribute, both felonies, and official misconduct, a misdemeanor.

A deputy since March 20, 2013, D’Agostino has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
