Afternoon storms could bring damaging winds, hail and thunderstorms to the Denver metro area Wednesday afternoon, forecasters say.

There’s a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. The high temperature will be around 91 degrees.

“Some of the storms could be severe,” according to the weather service.

It will be breezy Wednesday night with wind gusts up to 28 mph.

It will get hot on Thursday, with a high temperature of 96 degrees.

Afternoon rain and thunderstorms are possible on Friday. The high temperature will be near 92 degrees.

It will be partly sunny Saturday, with a high temperature of 91 degrees.

A cool front will enter the state Sunday, dropping high temperatures to around 83 degrees. Afternoon rain and thunderstorms are possible. The highs will be in the upper 70s on Monday and Tuesday, according to the NWS.
