
Electronic Arts unveiled its this week for the upcoming Madden NFL 19. Here’s a look at how the Broncos stack up.
Position battles
Running back:¾ٳ now in Carolina, tops Denver’s Madden depth chart with an overall rating of 76. Rookie Royce Freeman isn’t far behind at 73. De’Angelo Henderson (64) and David Williams (63) round out the rest of list. Former Colorado Buffaloes tailback Phillip Lindsay isn’t in the game yet.
Tight end:Jake Butt and lead the way with each player coming in at 74 overall. Troy Fumagalli and Austin Traylor are next at 70, followed by (65).
Cornerback:Chris Harris Jr. (88) and (83) are entrenched in the top two spots. It’s more wide open at No. 3 with newly acquired Tramaine Brock Sr. (72) holding a slight edge over Brendan Langley (70) and rookie Isaac Yiadom (70).
Quarterback: enters the year as the clear No. 1 and earned a solid 81 rating to prove it. (70) is just in front of Chad Kelly (68) for the No. 2 spot.
Returner:Carlos Henderson and have the early lead with each having an 83 kick return rating. Brendan Langley and Isaiah McKenzie are next with 81, apiece, followed by (79) and (76).
Other notes:
- Linebacker is one of seven players with an overall rating of 99, the highest possible in the game.
- Right tackle Jared Veldheer is tied for second in strength at 97 behind Rams defensive tackle .
- McKenzie has the eighth-worst carry rating (61) — the lower the rating, the higher the risk of fumbles. In his rookie season last year, McKenzie had six fumbles, tied for second among non-quarterbacks.
- Wide receiver has the highest-rated stiff arm (91) among wide receivers. He is eighth overall.
- Rookie defensive end Bradley Chubb received an overall rating of 80. It is the second highest among rookie defensive players and fifth best among all first-year players.
