Northglenn Police release grandson in connection with stabbing death of 79-year-old man, arrest new suspect

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 79-year-old man, Northglenn Police said Wednesday.

Reynold Richards Jr. was arrested Tuesday in connection with the homicide of Arthur Ventura, according to a Northglenn Police Department news release.

Northglenn Police discovered Ventura after responding to 11444 Emerson St. on Monday on the report of a dead man being at the home.

When officers arrived, they found Justin Adams, who said he found his 79-year-old grandfather dead in his bedroom in a large pool of blood.

Investigators found Ventura had multiple stab wounds and arrested Adams in connection with the homicide.

When Richards was arrested, Adams was released from custody and will not be charged, police said.
