Five Broncos to watch
1.
He is 9-of-17 passing for 83 yards in two preseason games and Friday will be his final tune-up before facing Seattle on Sept. 9. Keenum misfired on several passes last week against Chicago, notably throwing high and he cited poor footwork as the reason. However long he plays against the Redskins, it’s important for Keenum to show more accuracy to create some good vibes exiting the preseason.
2. Isaac Yiadom
Injures to Tramaine Brock (missed the Minnesota game) and (missed the Chicago game) equaled 104 snaps for Yiadom, the rookie third-round cornerback. The Broncos stress how Yiadom is in the right position and just needs to finish the play. If everybody is healthy, Yiadom will be the fourth cornerback, one injury from being a regular. Friday should be used to tighten up his game.
The left tackle stayed in the game last week for quarterback ’s first possession, citing a need to get more playing time. The Redskins have a great rusher in Ryan Kerrigan, who will challenge the edge against Bolles. The goal for Bolles should be to play a clean game (no penalties, no pressures allowed).
4.
The good — a 78-yard punt return touchdown against Minnesota. The bad — fumbling after a reception at the Chicago 37 with 57 seconds remaining. Does McKenzie need to stay aggressive and make one more play on special teams to secure a roster spot? Or if he plays it safe and avoids a mistake, will he make it? McKenzie should play it somewhere in between, but don’t fumble again.
5.
Butt has played only 17 snaps in two games and has no catches. Yes, the Broncos are probably protecting him (ACL injury for Michigan in December 2016) to make sure he’s ready for Seattle. But against the Redskins, it would make sense to push Butt a little bit with more playing time and target him on the opening drive.

“I never quarrel with a man who buys ink by the barrel,” former Indiana Rep. Charles Brownson said of the press. But we need your help to keep up with the rising cost of ink.
