As snow collects on Colorado peaks and aspens turn to gold, Rocky Mountain National Park is ending its weekday hiker shuttle service for the year as the high season comes to a close.

The shuttle, which runs between the Estes Park Visitor Center and the RMNP Park and Ride, will continue to operate Saturdays and Sundays through the first weekend in October. The buses will also operate on Columbus Day, Oct. 8.

The shuttle started its daily runs for the summer in May. The bus route is an attempt to cut down on vehicle emissions in the park and minimize traffic congestion at popular trailheads.
