11:15 a.m. — Keenum’s balancing act

Broncos quarterback Case Keenum has been unafraid to attempt downfield passes through the season’s first four games.

According to The Denver Post’s game charting, Keenum is 14 of 31 on passes that travel at least 16 yards in the air.

But Keenum is also tied for second in the NFL with six interceptions.

How does Keenum balance being aggressive with not committing a turnover?

“Thatap a constant struggle probably for every quarterback on the planet,” offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said.

Three of Keenum’s interceptions have come on downfield passes — 16 and 20 yards downfield against Seattle and 17 yards downfield against Seattle.

Of Keenum, Musgrave added: “I know Case is getting better and better each week, and four games into it, I think we’re ready to take a big step here and start this second quarter of the season. We’re looking forward to really getting on a roll here against the Jets and putting our best foot forward (and) playing better this week than we have the previous four.”
