A person was shot near downtown Denver on Friday night, police said.
The shooting happened in the 1400 block of Lipan Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, just south of the Auraria Campus.

One person was taken to a local hospital, police said. Lipan is closed between West 14th and Colfax avenues.
An investigation is ongoing.
On Friday afternoon, two people were shot in the area of West 14th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. One victim was taken to the hospital and the second victim walked into a local hospital shortly after the shooting, police said.
Also on Friday afternoon, shots were reported in the 1000 block of Osage Street, police said. No one was hit by the gunfire on Osage, which is also in the Lincoln Park area.
On Wednesday night a man wasfatally shot in Denver’s Barnum West neighborhood.The fatal shooting happened at about 8:50 p.m. in the area of Sheridan Boulevard and West 5th Avenue.
Police have not said whether the shootings are connected and police have not released any suspect information in any of the shootings.
