Rocky Mountain National Park rangers closed Trail Ridge Road all day Friday after snow and ice swept over the park, officials say.
Trail Ridge will be temporarily closed between Milner Pass in the west and Rainbow Curve in the East, according to a park service tweet.
The road will be reopened when conditions permit, the tweet says. The park service said that the road could be reopened this weekend if weather conditions improve.
The current forecast calls for rain, snow and freezing temperatures at the park’s higher elevations through the weekend, officials say.
