10:40 a.m. — “Of course I want to be here … but I don’t know”
The deadline for NFL players to be traded is fast-approaching on Tuesday and the Broncos are rumored to be open for business.
“Of course I want to be here,” wide receiver Demaryius Thomas said. “Been hearing (chatter) the whole season so (some) of it is true. My time here is coming up. But I don’t know.”
The uncertainty builds as Denver prepares for its Week 8 showdown at Kansas City. However, players and coaches say it hasn’t been a distraction. Simply put, it’s all part of the business.
Linebacker Todd Davis: “We don’t worry about it. Itap outside noise. Until somebody comes to us and tells us that something’s happened, thatap when we’ll worry about it. For right now, we don’t worry about any outside noise. We focus on who we have to play each week, and this week itap the Chiefs. That is 100 percent where our mind is at.”
Nose tackle Shelby Harris: “We don’t worry about that type of stuff. Itap a business at the end of the day. Trust me, I’ve been cut lots of times. I know what this business is all about. You don’t take anything for granted. You’ve got to go out there and just still produce every day because this is your livelihood. This is peoples’ jobs. When you get traded, you still have a job to do. You just really can’t even worry about it that much. You just have to go out there, play hard and ball every week. Then, what happens, happens.”
Coach Vance Joseph: “Itap rumors, itap gossip, it doesn’t matter to our football team, really. Our only concern is the Chiefs and thatap on Sunday. This time of the year, I watch the games on Sunday, obviously. There’s a lot of rumors out there, a lot of gossip and a lot of content for different shows. Until those things happen, we can’t address them or worry about them.”
