An officer with the Colorado State Patrol shot and killed a person following a single-vehicle crash in Gunnison County on Thanksgiving afternoon.
The officer initially responded to the crash, which happened around 4 p.m. near mile marker 23 on Colorado State Highway 135, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. What happened next hasn’t been released by investigators, but the ensuing incident led to the death of one person.
The officer wasn’t injured, according to CBI.
Members of the 7th Judicial Critical Incident Investigative Team (CIIT) are investigating, and additional details will be released as they become available.
