Sunny, cloudless skies are expected to return to the Denver area this week after a winter storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow on the Front Range mountains Saturday.

Temperatures could reach a high of 42 degrees Sunday in Denver and will stay in the 40s and 50s through Thursday, . No rain or snowfall is forecast for the week.

Light snowfall could still occur in the northern mountains before noon Sunday, but accumulation isn’t expected to be close to the inches of snow that fell Saturday.

Nearly 21 inches of snow fell Saturday near Loveland Pass and 18 inches fell in Rocky Mountain National Park, .

Less than an inch fell in Denver as snowfall continues to lag behind averages for the city. About 3.5 inches have fallen so far this month in Denver and 6.7 inches have fallen this season, according to the weather service. The normal amount is 7.5 for November and 12.7 for the season.
