A teen accused of stabbing a Longmont woman to death and planning to kill others on his “death list” will face a jury trial in the spring.
Aiden von Grabow, 16, is charged with first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree arson, extortion, two counts of felony menacing, three counts of stalking, third-degree assault of an at-risk person, criminal mischief and telephone harassment.
The three-week trial will begin on May 6, with May 3 reserved for a motions hearing and jury questionnaires.
Von Grabow appeared Friday morning in Boulder County District Court for a status conference. He was originally scheduled for a December trial, but that was delayed as the court waited for von Grabow’s psychological evaluation.
Von Grabow is accused of killing Makayla Grote, 20, in November 2017 at her Longmont apartment. Police believe he intended to kill Grote’s younger sister, who prosecutors say was on his “death list.”
