Time after time, Cyndi Lauper has shown her true colors. And this time, the girl just wants to have fun with Jared Polis. (Yeah, we went extra punny.)
The singer tweeted out her support for Colorado’s newest leader, who Tuesday became the first openly gay governor to be sworn into office.
“I am watching a monumental moment in Colorado,” Lauper tweeted out to her 366,000 followers. “Gov. Elect Jared Polis is being sworn in as the first openly gay governor of Colorado.”

In December, Polis’ team announced that the iconic singer, whose hits include “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Time After Time,” would be , along with Denver locals Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
“I am so proud to be performing at the party this evening,” her tweet said. “Here’s to a great new year!”
