Gunman shoots, kills man outside Colorado Springs business

The victim was pronounced dead at hospital

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning in a parking lot outside a business as a homicide.

The shooting happened at 1:18 a.m. on the 400 block of South Circle Drive, according to a news release by Lt. Howard Black, spokesman for the Colorado Springs Police Department.

When police arrived they found a man in the parking lot who had apparently suffered a gunshot wound, the news release says.

Authorities took the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The departmentap Violent Crimes Section is investigating.

“This death is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation,” the news release says.

No information has been released about a possible suspect.
