A man suspected of a purse snatching, in which he allegedly knocked an octogenarian to the ground, severely injuring the woman, has been arrested, police said.
Contarius Lamonye Alexander, 21, has been arrested as a suspect in a Jan. 7 incident outside a Dollar Tree store near the intersection of West 44th Avenue and Harlan Street in Wheat Ridge, police said.

Aurora police and Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Fugitive Task Force assisted Wheat Ridge police in the arrest.
The victim, 87-year-old Pat Scott, , was knocked unconscious and suffered extensive injuries in the incident, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her family.
An “independent woman” prior to the vicious attack, Scott will “require assisted living for the foreseeable future … as she recovers from her injuries,” her family said on the page.
Scott has been released from the hospital and is recovering at a daughter’s home. She suffered broken ribs and a broken elbow, along with multiple bruises and swelling in the attack.
