A heavy blanket of fog has obscured the Denver skyline and could complicate Tuesday morning commute.

The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued a dense fog advisory until 8 a.m.

Area police departments are warning people to slow down because of the fog to avoid accidents.

Areas of freezing fog can be expected before 9 a.m., the weather service says.

It will be mostly cloudy Tuesday morning, but will gradually become sunny, the NWS says. The high temperature will be around 41 degrees.

Patchy freezing fog is also possible on Wednesday morning, the weather service says. The high temperature will be 42 degrees.

The warmest day of the week will be Thursday when temperatures climb to around 55 degrees.

The next chance for snow is on Friday morning before 11 a.m. For a brief period, freezing rain could fall before it snows again Friday afternoon, the NWS says. The high temperature will be about 46 degrees.

Snow is possible Saturday after 11 a.m. There’s also a slight chance for snow Saturday night.
