Much of the Eastern Plains is under a red flag warning Tuesday as temperatures approach record highs, weather forecasters say.
“Very warm with record-breaking temperatures possible today,” according to a forecast by the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The red flag warning extends from Castle Rock down to Pueblo on the west and from Wray to Lamar on the east, according to the National Weather Service.
Lamar could hit 88 degrees on Tuesday afternoon, the NWS says.
High winds and low humidity increase fire danger, the weather service says.
Very warm with record breaking temperatures possible today. Red Flag Warning for parts the plains. Much colder Wednesday with heavy snow for parts of the area. Blizzard conditions possible east of I-25.
