Update 9/16/19: Kevin Boley cleared of criminal wrongdoing after police investigation

Kevin Boley, the athletic director at Legend High School and longtime boys basketball coach, has taken leave while a police investigation is ongoing.

Boley, who has notched more than 400 wins in a 20-plus-year run as a high school basketball coach in Colorado, is being investigated by Parker police.

“There is an investigation into potential inappropriate conduct…in his role as athletic director,” Parker police said in a statement. “It is an open and ongoing investigation and at this time no criminal charges have been filed.”

Legend High School, in a community statement released Wednesday, said Boley is “currently on leave.” The high school’s statement, signed by principal Jason Jacob, described the leave as a personnel matter.

“Please understand that I am unable to share specific details,” Jacob said.

Boley could not be reached for comment Thursday. Besides an impressive, long run as a varsity basketball coach, Boley’s resume includes coaching a player who has gone on to the NBA — Derrick White, a guard for the San Antonio Spurs who graduated from Legend in 2012.
