The weather forecast in Denver over the next couple of days is staying in line with Coloradans’ expectations — sunny days making way for snow showers on Monday.

National Weather Service forecasters call for a high of 75 degrees on Sunday with wind gusts up to 41 mph. A 30 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. is expected to continue, with the likelihood increasing in the evening, until about 4 a.m.

Monday brings a 50 percent chance of snow showers, with some thunder possible, and a high near 36 degrees, according to the weather service. Snow accumulation of about an inch is possible Monday evening.

After Monday and Tuesday snow showers, the days are expected to bring cooler temperatures in the 50s and 60s with somer rain before going back up to 70s later in the week.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous outlook for Monday for the mountains and foothills, with between 3 to 7 inches of snow expected over the mountains and 2 to 4 inches in the foothills. The snow is expected to continue to fall through Tuesday.
