One person has died after a head-on collision Saturday morning in Weld County.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m. at the intersection of Colorado 14 and Colorado 71 in Stoneham, said Cpl. Ivan Alvarado, a State Patrol spokesman.

One person, who was initially trapped in vehicle, died shortly after the crash, Alvarado said. A 30-year-old man was breathing and out of the car when emergency workers arrived, Alvarado said. The man’s condition is unknown.

Both directions of the highways remain closed at the intersection, Alvarado said.

Authorities are investigating.
