Denver weather: Mostly sunny skies, high temperatures expected this week

Mother’s Day in Denver is expected to bring warm temperatures, mostly sunny skies and dry weather, with the rest of the week bringing similar weather with some rain showers, forecasters predict.

The high on Sunday in Denver is expected to be near 72 degrees with wind gusts getting up to 15 mph and a partly cloudy evening with a low near 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The conditions on Monday are expected to be similar, though slightly warmer, with a 10 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, the weather service said.

High temperatures are expected to jump into the 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, with a slight dip to 76 degrees on Friday and to 65 degrees on Saturday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

The hazardous weather outlook for the week for northeast and north central Colorado calls for wind gusts of up to 20 to 30 mph on Sunday and no hazardous weather expected for the remainder of the week, according to the weather service.
