Who else googled “drop foot” last weekend?

If you also happen to be a Denver Nuggets fan, you’re not alone.

It was revealed in Mike Singer’s Sunday profile on Michael Porter Jr. that the Nuggets rookie “developed drop foot” during this past season.

I’m no doctor, but that sure doesn’t sound good. Especially for someone coming off his second back surgery… who missed nearly all of his lone college basketball season at Missouri… and has a .

But maybe there’s reason for hope.

His name is Jaylon Smith, and this past season he was a starting linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. He, too, after dealing with other injuries. And just like Porter, he wore a brace to deal with it.

Fully recovered last fall, Smith started all 16 games for the Cowboys and is now .

Could the same recovery happen for Porter? We’ll get a few clues at NBA Summer League.

Between now and then, however, just take a deep breath and remember this: MPJ is a luxury the Nuggets don’t need right away.
