Denver weather: Sunny and breezy Monday with thunderstorms predicted for the weekend

Sunshine and warm southeasterly breezes are forecast for the Denver metro area on Monday, National Weather Service meteorologists said.

The high temperature Monday will be around 77 degrees, the NWS said. Winds out of the southeast will range from 7 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph, forecasters said.

The skies will be mostly clear and sunny on Tuesday with a high temperature of around 74 degrees, the NWS said. Winds could gust up to 23 mph.

Wednesday will be very similar to Tuesday, with a high temperature of 73 degrees.

Another series of stormy afternoons will begin on Thursday, when the high temperature will be about 81 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of afternoon rain showers.

Through the weekend, temperatures will peak in the upper 70s as afternoon rain thunderstorms cool things off. Rain and thunderstorms are likely Saturday and Sunday, the NWS said.
